"I listen to patients in order to fully understand their disease or injury from their perspective and how it affects their lives. I find myself acting like a guide and leading patients toward goals that are important to them.

I want to give patients a realistic understanding of their orthopedic problem and match the treatment to their personal goals, expectations, and desires. If we develop a plan together, patients are more likely to understand their treatment and actively participate in their care; this leads to better outcomes and better patient satisfaction."
