The Intensive Care Unit at Community Memorial Hospital is committed to treating all patients in accordance with the hospital's philosophy of confidential, competent, concerned care regardless of age, background or economic status.
The goal of the medical-surgical intensive care unit staff is to create mutual trust between the patient, family and hospital staff. A Registered Nurse assigned to this department is responsible for coordinating patient care. The staff will include the patient, family and/or significant other in making decisions about the patient's plan of care. The staff will also keep the patient’s family informed about the patient’s care, procedures and the unit’s technologies.
We highly recommend communication between patient and family. Your encouragement and positive attitude will ease the patient's fear and assist in recovery. Visiting is limited to immediate family members or significant others. No more than two visitors are allowed in the room at one time. Children ten years and older are permitted to visit in the ICU. Younger children may be permitted, under special circumstances, after discussion with the Registered Nurse on duty. You may visit your loved one anytime, please check at the Unit desk prior to entering.
